Clarkes is a family run business with a dedicated team. We have been an active part of the Classic car scene for over 50 years. We are all self confessed "petrol heads" that have a passion for all cars classic, exotic and interesting. Classic cars have always played a huge part in all our lives from Dave owning many different marques and Dan growing up around them.
The main house, Long Barn, was built in the 1800s in the style of a Dutch barn and can be seen from the B2102. Behind the barn, the vehicles are kept in dry storage 24hrs a day. This building was purposely built in the 1960s as a car museum. In 1968 the record for the highest price car auction in the country was broken. Many of the exhibits were sold to Beauliu and other private collections that day.
Rather than being a barn find car, the barn was found to house cars by Dave in 1987. He then set about restoring and saving the once magnificent premises. Dave filled the museum with his own private collection of Automobilia and vehicles. Much of which still remains on display today.
The workshops have three ramps in total with one dedicated for rust Waxoyl protection. All your Jaguar needs can be catererd for
In 1968 an auction was held in our museum. It was the most successful auction at the time.
